Time & Location

12 Dec 2021, 8:00 am – 11:00 am AEDT

Atma Darshan Yoga Center, 795 Western Creek Rd, Western Creek TAS 7304, Australia

About the Event

We will get together at 8am for the practice of Laghoo Shashankprakshalana (cleanse of the intestinal tract) and a cuppa (sometimes it takes a cuppa to relax and get things going!). There will be plenty of time to rest body and mind in the beautiful surroundings of Western Creek. And you will have the option to follow the practice with Neti (rinse of nasal cavity) and Kunjal Kriya (flushing of stomach and food pipe).

Please bring your own breakfast - well cooked, vegetarian, low sugar. For example polenta porridge or ketchari. Food can be warmed up on site.

The morning will finish with a group meditation.

People who are interested but concerned, will have the opportunity to join a modified version.

Benefits:

Physically, Laghoo Shankhaprakshalana alleviates digestive problems and tones the liver and other digestive organs and glands. It strengthens the immune system, reduces excessive mucus and purifies the blood.

It recharges the entire pranic body, removes blockages from the nadis and purifies all the chakras. The harmony of the five pranas is restored and the energy level is raised.

Mentally:

Laghoo Shankhaprakshalana calms the mind and prepares the way for higher states of consciousness. Any sadhana

(practices) performed after the cleansing practices gives manifold results.

Neti: very helpful for allergies & sinus problems. Kunjal (for those who wish to give it a try): This involves practicing self-induced vomiting, which provides a cleansing effect and purifies the digestive tract, lungs, liver, intestine, and food pipe. This practice tones and stimulates all abdominal organs and helps to release pent-up emotions and emotional blocks or feelings of heaviness in the heart caused by inner and external conflict and pressures.

Fees: $35. Please pay in full to secure your spot by Wednesday, 8th December.

About Sw. Nivedita Saraswati

Nivedita is fully accredited Satyananda Yoga Teacher with over 30 years experience teaching within a range of health and educational organisations. What practitioners say:

  • Nivedita has a very charming way of leading you through the practice. It feels healthy, uplifting and fun. ~ Gray
  • Practicing the cleansing techniques in a group helps to relax and to take the edge of these practices, which can be a little emotionally intense at times. Practicing with an experienced teacher really helps me to face the 'stuff' that comes up. ~ Pia
  • I'm doing the practice of Laghoo Shashankprakshalana regularly. If I go without it for too long I feel like something is missing - Or rather too much, actually!  ~ Tatiana
