The Vedic culture preserved a vast storehouse of spiritual insight and practical wisdom. The Yoga system relies on the principles of Sankhya which outline a coherent model of the human constitution, and the relationship of mind and body. During this weekend we will explore the law of karma – how much are we bound by the past and what are we able to change. Specifically we will examine how yoga practice can help us overcome the obstacles to peace and enhance the opportunities for growth.

The Sankhya sessions will be presented by Gautama:

Gautama has been practising and teaching yoga for 40 years. He trained in yoga ashrams of Swami Satyananda in Australia and India and imbibed the essence of the yogic tradition. He has experience teaching students of all ages in schools, prisons, workplaces, persons with disability and seniors. He currently resides in Sydney where he is studying the Vedic texts relating to Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedic Astrology.

The weekend will include yoga classes, relaxation and Sankhya sessions, as well as havan (healing fire ceremony) and kirtan (bhakti chanting).
